The History of Bismarck Grove By Ted Kennedy

Ted will tell the history of Bismarck Grove in Northeast Lawrence. Bismarck Grove was started by the Union Pacific Railroad in the 1880s as a venue for Chautauquas for railroad personnel, preaching, revivals, musical entertainment, horse racing, theatre, land promotions, and carnivals. Some pictures will be available. The Grove thrived until the 1903 flood decimated the area.
