In the morning of this excursion, we will visit Park University. You will be surprised at the innovations that abound at this little known universityonline learning, education for active military, and energy efficient dormitories. We will explore the buried treasure of Park Universitya fascinating underground limestone quarry converted into classrooms and commercial space.

We will continue to our afternoon stop, the Arabia Steamboat Museum. The Missouri River is noted as being "too thick to drink; too thin to plow", and is the place where the steamboat Arabia hit a snag on September 5, 1856. The Steamboat sank near what today is known as Parkville, Missouri. Arabia was rediscovered in 1988 by a team of researchers. Today, the artifacts that were recovered from the site now are housed in the museum at the River Market in Kansas City.
