"The Spanish New World in the Narrative Imagination"
Humanities Lecture Series

Tue., Mar. 11, 1997, 12:00am
Rolena Adorno's lecture examined the ways in which Spanish exploration narratives have "read into" Anglo-American and Latino cultural traditions. Adorno also conducted two colloquia during her visit, "The Spanish New World in the Critical Imagination," and "Narrative and Referent: Interdisciplinary Strategies of Reading in Literature and History."

In regard to her visit to KU, Adorno said, "Being with such a varied group of highly articulate and interested colleagues and graduate students was for me the value of this experience...nothing compares with the high level of intellectual and social engagement that the Humanities Lecture Series of the Hall Center has provided."
