James Naismith invented basketball in December 1891. He then coached at KU from 1898 to 1907. Professor Michael Zogry has always been interested in where religion and sports bump up against each other and he has discovered some fascinating relationships between Naismith's religious commitment and his invention of basketball. Professor Zogry teaches in the Department of religious Studies at KU and he will share his insights into the life of James Naismith with us.
