The School of Pharmacy has a new state of the art building in West Campus and Dean Audus has agreed to give us a talk about the School and tour of the building.  This is one of the top-rated programs at the University of Kansas.  Dean Audus completed his Ph.D. in Pharmacology from the KU Medical Center in 1984 and following postdoctoral work joined the Pharmaceutical Chemistry department in 1986.  He became Dean in 2004.  He is a Fellow of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists and has been recognized as an American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy Teacher of the Year and for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching for Pharmaceutical Chemistry at the University of Kansas.  His research interests have included development and application of models to study drug distribution across the blood-brain barrier for treatment of tumors and Alzheimer's disease and studies how drug distribution across the placenta might be controlled and providing safer drugs for mother and fetus during pregnancy.
