"Exhibition Dilemmas"
Humanities Lecture Series

Thu., Feb. 5, 1998, 12:00am
Ira Michael Heyman's lecture centered on current controversies facing museums: Should museums take on tough issues already in public debate, or should the museum remain a "temple"? What is the museum's purpose, who is its audience, and what format should it use? On whose authority does the museum present its information and interpretations? Heyman also led a discussion with directors of museums throughout the region during his visit.
