Eli Horowitz is the publisher at McSweeney's, an independent publishing house based in San Francisco. Over the past six years, he has edited books and stories by writers including Dave Eggers, William Vollmann, Nick Hornby, Michael Chabon, Joyce Carol Oates, Chris Adrian, and Salvador Plascencia. Horowitz designs most of McSweeney's books himself, along with his three-person editorial staff. His design work has been honored by I.D., Print and the American Institute of Graphic Arts. He was born in Virginia, attended Yale, and now lives in San Francisco.
