KATG Schülerkongress

Schülerkongress is an annual event sponsored by the Kansas Association of Teachers of German (KATG) and hosted by the KU German Department. Students from across Kansas are invited to compete for medals in poetry recitation, prose reading, spelling, poster making, and cultural tests. There is also an oral proficiency interview that students can sign up to take. Events are judged by faculty and graduate students from the KU German Department. When not competing, students can interact with wandering German-speaking "Bergwanderer", who reward students for conversation with play money which can be exchanged for various German-related prizes.
