KU Musicians Present 2012 New Year Concert in Eutin.

Report of January 14, 2012 from our sister city, Eutin, by Helmut Scheewe:

“The KU New Year Concert at St. Michael's Church in Eutin  last night was a big success again. Not unlike last year, the concert was sold out, which means that about 350 people attended.

Under Robert Neeley as the conductor, who simultaneously was a humorous moderator, supported by four young orchestra players from the Luebeck Music Academy, all the soloists performed so brilliantly that the audience was really overwhelmed. What made an extra impression was the fact that every soloist performed without being nervous in the slightest way. Each of them might indeed have been named as the star of the evening!

At the end of the concert, the musicians and the whole audience again united in the Kansas song 'Home on the Range' and our hymn 'Schleswig-Holstein Meerumschlungen'.

In our view, the concert may be regarded as another step forward in your attempt to rescue the Eutin Opera Festival and to experience a successful concert season in the summer of 2012.”
