STUDY ABROAD
The University of Kansas and The Department of Germanic Languages and Literatures offer two
summer language institutes and several
semester or year study abroad programs in Germany. The summer institutes are taught by professors in the German Department and University
of Kansas credit is received upon completion of the courses. The summer institutes differ from other study abroad programs because the
courses that are taken in Germany are the same you would find on campus. The programs are designed to expose students to the German culture
while maintaining accordance with the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences requirements. This helps to ensure the transfer of credits while
keeping a genuine study abroad experience. The other study abroad programs are further described in the links below.
