TRANSFER OF CREDITS

For the Master of Arts, six hours of transferred graduate credit (eight if the student holds a Bachelor's degree from the University of Kansas) may be applied to the total of thirty semester hours required for the degree. Students planning to transfer graduate credit from other institutions are urged to secure advance approval; in order to have this credit count, they must submit, to the Department, two transcripts showing the work done elsewhere and indicating clearly that it was taken for graduate credit while enrolled in a graduate program, but not used for another degree. M.A. candidates who desire to use transfer credit to fulfill specific course requirements for the M.A. degree (GERM 701; GERM 711; GERM 721) must pass a qualifying examination in that subject administered by the Department before receiving such credit.

No transfer of credits is allowed for the Ph.D. (see Catalog).
