Jerry Dobson was awarded the distinction of Fellow by the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). Jerry was one of only two geographers to receive the award this year. Congratulations Jerry!

Four professors win $10,000 Higuchi Research Achievement Awards
LAWRENCE — The University of Kansas has announced the winners of four Higuchi/Endowment Association Research Achievement Awards. The winners will receive $10,000 to advance research efforts.
The awards were announced Sept. 7 at KU’s annual faculty-staff convocation. Chancellor Robert Hemenway will officially present the awards to the winners in November.

Seven KU professors surprised this morning with Kemper fellowships
LAWRENCE — Seven University of Kansas professors were pleasantly interrupted this morning when the “Surprise Patrol,” led by Chancellor Robert Hemenway and Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor Richard Lariviere presented them with $5,000 W.T. Kemper Fellowships in recognition of their teaching and advising excellence.
In all, 20 professors will be honored and $100,000 distributed as part of the Kemper awards tradition this year. The patrol will hand out awards to additional unsuspecting professors Friday, Aug. 18, and Monday, Aug. 21. Click here to read entire article. |
