David has been with NAVTEQ for 13 years and during that time has extensive experience in the field of digital mapping. He has held many positions dealing with GIS, GPS and has participated in many data collection projects while working for NAVTEQ. He has managed numerous GIS database update projects in the digital mapping operations division while utilizing geospatial technologies in the US, Europe and Mexico. He now is involved with project management for the source management team at NAVTEQ that oversees digital map update projects all over the US.  His professional interests include GIS, cartography, geography, meteorology, telematics, global positioning systems, personal navigation devices and geospatial technologies. He is a member of URISA, NSGIC,  ITS America and the Mid America GIS Consortium.  David lives in Olathe, KS and in his spare time likes to travel, chase storms and tornadoes, read and study US history and the US Civil war, tour and take photos of lighthouses as well as collect old oil company road maps.  Please feel free to contact him with any questions or career insights
