I received my MA in Geography from KU in 1974, after a BA in Geography from the University of Pittsburgh. As part of my managerial responsibilities in the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission, I often meet with students at universities and talk about opportunities in the public sector, particularly here at the the NRC.
Sometimes students in Geography tend to think that their post-degree options may be limited largely to teaching and planning. I would be pleased to come out and meet with students to talk about how Geography figures in federal service careers, in part building on my own experience and that of other geographers I have known.
