Pete Shortridge introduced me to academic geography in 1999 while I was a masters student in anthropology, and I have never looked back. Being able to combine fieldwork, scholarly investigation, and my passion for places near and far makes geography the perfect field for me. I now teach and research in geography at the cross-border rival Mizzou, where I use the skills learned at KU Geography every day!
