KU: Department of Geography

After graduating from KU with my Geography degree I earned a Masters Degree in Urban and Regional Planning from Portland State University. After a stint working in local government as a planner I am now working in the private sector in land development. Boise is one of the fastest growing areas in the country so land development is action-packed. My job is to help developers navigate the political process of getting projects approved and constructed. My geography degree has given me a good background in physical geography which helps when I look at the physical constraints of a site and my coursework in cultural geography has definitely helped me to appreciate the Wild West field of land development.

I would be glad to talk with anyone who is interested in moving to Boise and has questions about careers in land development.
