Robert Kirkman

Robert Kirkman is the Northwest GIS Regional Coordinator for HDR Engineering. He has over 10 years of spatial sciences experience in natural resources and urban planning. He is currently heading a GIS team for HDR's joint venture project, Oregon Bridge Delivery Partners (OBDP). OBDP is under contract to the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) and its Highway Division to accelerate the completion and manage the quality of projects in the OTIA III State Bridge Delivery Program.

Mr. Kirkman's background is in GIS and remote sensing. His prior GIS experience includes working as the GIS Manager at a natural resources consulting firm, and as a GIS Specialist at a regional government in the Northwest. He also worked at the National Wetlands Research Center (Louisiana) as an Image Analyst using satellite imagery to research global warming along the Gulf coast. He has published papers on the application of technology to natural resource inventories.

Mr. Kirkman has undergraduate degrees in Geography and Environmental Studies. He also pursued graduate studies in Geography (Natural Hazards) at the University of Oregon, and completed an M.S. in the Management of Science & Technology from the Oregon Graduate Institue.
