Current work: Land cover change through time

I have been
working to develop a consistent dataset that can be used to perform transient
land cover simulations in any GCM. Based
on plant functional types (PFT) the dataset represents historical and future
extent of agriculture (figures 1 and 2), and grazing of specific PFTs for the present day (figure 3) and overall grazing
intensity from 1700 to present (figure 4).
I am currently working with Trish Jackson to extent these data back in
time to 400 BC.
