KU: Department of Geography

Geography has been good to me. After returning from Vietnam, I took my degree in geography and began work with the US Army Corps of Engineers. I wrote recreation plans, environmental impact statements, permits, flood control plans, and emergency operations plans. For the last 22 years I have been the senior environmental manager at Edwards AFB in California. Edwards AFB has the largest and most comprehensive environmental program in the Air Force with a very complete GIS and remote sensing staff. And to think, this all started with an Introduction to Geography.
