Please feel free to contact me for career insights.
I graduated in 1994 from KU with a BGS degree in Geography. My KU education prepared me very well for a geography related career. My career started with Navigation Technologies in April 1995 as a research analyst and have grown into several including the company name change to NAVTEQ in 2003 . I am currently a content source specialist and have been doing that since Dec 2005 . I have held many positions dealing with project management, GIS, GPS and geospatial technologies. I have been able to attend many GIS related conferences and stay active in the GIS field along with extensive networking opportunities within the geospatial industry that has proven to be very valuable while working for NAVTEQ.
Currently, I now work within the digital mapping operations division for the source management department and oversee digital map update projects utilitizing GIS datasets. This also has allowed more involvement in the business side of the geospatial industry to be able to take on new opportunities.
I would be happy to share my knowledge of the geospatial industry or NAVTEQ with those considering such a career.
