David currently works for NAVTEQ, a subsidiary of Nokia, where he is a content source specialist supporting the Map Division of the Global Content Management Department. He works on various GIS data acquisition projects across the Americas to support NAVTEQ map update and expansion projects such as NAVTEQ Transport, Discover Cities and core map updates.  David has been with NAVTEQ for 15 years and has worked in several differing roles dealing with GIS data creation and map maintenance.  During this time it has allowed him to work on many different data collection projects in North America, Mexico and Europe. David has been able to attend GIS related conferences to build key local and state relationships for NAVTEQ. He is involved with (NSGIC) National States Geographic Information Council,(GIS-T) GIS for Transportation and (MAGIC) MidAmerica GIS Consortium. He is skilled in NAVTEQ map data collection, GIS, GPS, business development/ project management, professional networking and personal navigation devices (PNDs). He graduated from the University of Kansas in 1994 with a BGS in Geography.  He lives in Olathe, KS with his wife Jennifer. In his spare time he loves to travel, storm chase and use GPS navigation systems.

He would be happy to share his knowledge of the geospatial industry or NAVTEQ with those considering such a career.
