Floyd Henderson Professor, Co-Director of GIS and Remote Sensing Laboratory

Floyd has been at the University at Albany for over 30 years interspersed with time at San Diego State University, Louisiana State University, NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, and as a visiting faculty at universities in Germany and Austria. He served as department chair twice and was Associate Dean of the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences for 6 years. His research and teaching interests center on remote sensing, GIS, and GPS. He founded and is coordinator of the department’s GIS intern program, providing between 20-30 paid internships annually in the public and private sectors. He lives in the Albany area with his wife and Oliver and Paddington (their two golden retriever therapy dogs). |
