Floyd has been at the University
at Albany for over 30 years interspersed with time at San Diego State
University, Louisiana State University, NASA Goddard Space Flight Center,
and as a visiting faculty at universities in Germany and Austria. He
served as department chair twice and was Associate Dean of the College
of Social and Behavioral Sciences for 6 years. His research and teaching
interests center on remote sensing, GIS, and GPS. He founded and is
coordinator of the department’s GIS intern program, providing
between 20-30 paid internships annually in the public and private sectors.
He lives in the Albany area with his wife and Oliver and Paddington
(their two golden retriever therapy dogs). |
