Advisory Board

Recently the Geography Department formed a new alumni advisory board. The board is a mix of undergraduate and graduate alumni from various years and disciplines. Terry Slocum, the departmental chair, and student liaisons from Geography and Atmospheric Science also participate.

We had our first face-to-face meeting in April, 2005, in Lindley Hall. It was a lot of fun being back in Lawrence and visiting the department. We spent much of our time defining how the new board can help students and faculty through a variety of initiatives.

  • Create a web page that provides details on available internships
  • Support student travel to professional conferences and training
  • Support field camp
  • Support the improvement of Lindley Hall
  • And more…
