Part 1: Peer Review
What: Participants will work with different models of peer review and best practices for teaching students to use peer review to help them develop as writers and critical readers. Participants will also get to share their own success stories and ideas about peer review best practices.

Please read the attached samples of peer review workshops and review the English 101 sample papers in CAL. Think about how each of these workshops would look in practice. Please also print out and bring these descriptions of these peer review models, along with your copy of CAL, to the workshop.
Part 2: Student-Instructor Conferences
What: In this session, participants will watch some fellow instructors enact some student-instructor conference scenarios. The following discussion will center on using conferences to build students' confidence and competency with their own writing.

What: This workshop will focus on ways to use comments on graded work to develop students' confidence and competency in revising their writing.
