Norming Session Materials
 1. Choose the materials for one of the courses that you are teaching this semester (If you are teaching two different courses, you only need to go to one norming session).

2. There will be one assignment for you to review. Please print it out and bring it with you to the session.

3. Read the assignment and decide what is required of a paper responding to it. (Remember, that this is a session on grading standards and not on critiquing assignments. We are using the assignment to focus on grading and not assignment creation.)

4. Write down what characteristics a paper would have to have to receive a grade of A, B, C, D, and F on the assignment.

5. Bring your descriptions of these characteristics and the assignment with you to the norming session.
