Retroactive Credit

If your first college-level French course is 230 or 231 you are entitled to 3 hours of retroactive credit. If your first college-level French course is 234, 240, or 241, you are entitled to 6 hours of retroactive credit. If your first college-level French course is 300 (or above), you are entitled to 9 hours of retroactive credit.

These credit hours do not affect your G.P.A., but do count towards the overall number of credits you need for graduation.

Retroactive credit is not automatically posted on your KU transcript; you must apply for it. To do so, bring an official copy of your high school transcript showing all years of high school French and a copy of your KU ARTS form showing the final grade received (C or better) in 230, 231, 234, 240, 241 or 300 and above to Professor Kim Swanson, 2060 Wescoe. She will forward the information to the registrar.
