Families
play an important role in the academic success of their
children. Talent Search offers many opportunities for
parents to be involved in their children's education.
Parents can attend educational workshops, participate
in the Parent Advisory Board, and help chaperone special
events.
Parents
who are interested in continuing their education can
even utilize Talent Search services to help them achieve
their educational goals. There is no better way to demonstrate
the value of education to children than for parents
to return to school. Talent Search can help parents
get started, whether they desire a GED or high school
diploma or wish to enroll in a college or vocational
training program.
Kansas
City Kansas Community College now offers a scholarship
for parents of University of Kansas Talent Search
students. The purpose of the scholarship is for parents
to learn how to navigate the college process and to
continue their education. Parents can receive one
3-credit hour class.
Anyone interested in services for
parents/guardians can contact the Talent Search office at (913)
342-9823 for more information.
