The School of Education at
the University of Kansas has committed itself to extending broad educational
support to the youth and adults of all segments of it's community. The
Educational Opportunity Programs (EOP) is part of that commitment.
The Educational Opportunity Programs support a wide spectrum of learners
and provides educational information, counseling, academic instruction,
tutoring, assistance in applying for financial aid, and supportive encouragement
to both students and their families. While student financial aid programs
help students overcome financial barriers to higher education, Educational
Opportunity programs help students overcome academic, economic, social,
and cultural barriers to higher education. Our programs serve
students
at KU, and
youth and
adults in the Lawrence, Topeka, and Kansas City areas.
The Educational Opportunity Programs operate through the
Institute
for Educational Research and Public Service in the
School
of Education at the
University of Kansas.
The Educational Opportunity Programs are under the direction of Dr. Ngondi
A. Kamatuka.
Sheila Blume from USD 500 is
awarded the EOP Champion of Opportunity Award for 2007.
