Poetry Editor Phil Wedge

Established in the 1960s, Cottonwood is the nationally circulated literary review of the University of Kansas. We publish high quality literary work in poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction. Over the years authors such as William Stafford, Rita Dove, Connie May Fowler, Virgil Suarez, and Cris Mazza have appeared in the pages of Cottonwood, and recent issues have featured the work of Kim Chinquee, Quinn Dalton, Carol Lee Lorenzo, Jesse Kercheval, Joanne Lowery, and Oliver Rice. We welcome submissions from new and established writers. New issues appear once yearly, in the fall.

We publish writing in diverse styles and on a variety of subjects, and we welcome submissions from new as well as established writers. Prose writers should submit one short story or one essay, from short shorts to around 8,500 words. Poets should submit four to six poems.

Writers should address work to the appropriate editor and send to:
Room 400 Kansas Union
1301 Jayhawk Blvd.
University of Kansas; Lawrence, KS 66045
We read submissions throughout the year, and we usually report back in about six months.
