Installing Proofing Tools for Spanish and French in Office 2000

The following instructions will guide you through adding proofing tools to an existing installation of Microsoft Office 2000.

  1. Insert the Microsoft Office 2000 installation disk into your computer.
  2. Select the "Add or Remove Features" option and click "Next".

  3. Expand the "Office Tools" list by clicking on the plus sign next to "Office Tools".

  4. Scroll down and find the proofing tools for French and Spanish.

  5. Click on the hard drive icon with the down arrow and select the "Run all from My Computer" option for the language(s) you want installed on your computer. The window should now appear as below. Notice that the small numeral "1" has been removed from the languages and the backgrounds of the hard drives are now white. When this step is complete, select "Update Now".

  6. Follow the remaining steps in the Office installation wizard and the installation of Microsoft Office 2000 proofing tools will be complete.
