THE UNIVERSITY OF KANSAS ANNOUNCES THREE FACULTY POSITIONS in the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology (EEB):

Assistant Professor/Assistant Curator - Herpetology (#00002289): Tenure-track joint position in EEB (50%) and the Biodiversity Institute (BI; 50%) with research expertise in the Biodiversity and Evolutionary Biology of Amphibians and Reptiles. The successful candidate will: use systematic and multiple integrative techniques to address collection-based research questions in the biodiversity and evolutionary biology of amphibians and/or reptiles; teach courses in systematic herpetology, general biology, and additional areas of expertise; and contribute to the stewardship of the BI’s herpetological collections.
Assistant Professor/Assistant Scientist – Microbial Ecology (#00066201): Tenure-track joint position in EEB (50%) and the Kansas Biological Survey (KBS; 50%) with research expertise in Microbial Ecology. We seek an ecologist investigating interactions between microbes and the abiotic and biotic environment in aquatic or terrestrial ecosystems utilizing cutting-edge techniques. The successful candidate will: teach courses in ecology and areas of expertise; develop/maintain an externally funded program of research; and provide university and professional service.
Assistant Professor – Ecological or Evolutionary Genomics (#00004339): Tenure-track position in EEB (100%) with research expertise in ecology and/or evolutionary biology using genomic techniques. The successful candidate will: use computational and experimental methods in novel ways; complement existing research strengths in EEB; be committed to quality undergraduate and graduate education; and have Ph.D. and post-doctoral experience in a related field of study by the time of appointment.
