The Logan Wright Distinguished Service Award


The Logan Wright Distinguished Research Award recognizes excellence and significant contributions in establishing the scientific base of pediatric psychology.  The importance of this research award becomes more evident as the field moves from intuitive to an empirical base.

Nominations can be made for one particularly significant contribution or a series of contributions that are available for scrutiny and documentation.  Nominations and endorsements should include an evaluative summary of the contribution, noting the positive impact of the nominee's research and detailing the extent of scholarship given in productivity. 

Self nominations will not be considered since this award represents recognition of scholarly contributions by one's peers.  The nominees and the award recipient need not be SPP members nor necessarily active in SPP activities, but they should be or should have been on the front line of active, productive research in the field of pediatric psychology. The recipient will present a 20 minute summary of his/her research at the 2008 APA meeting.

Nominations may be made by sending current curriculum vitae and letter describing the nominee's qualifying characteristics.  The deadline for nominations is December 1, 2008.  Send nominations to:
