Bachelor of Music in Music Performance: Strings and Harp

Music Performance

Each student who is a candidate for the Bachelor of Music degree must carry a major in

  • Musicology,
  • Music theory,
  • Music composition, or
  • Music performance.

Course work but no degree program is offered in carillon and harpsichord. Music performance majors are offered in the divisions of

  • Organ and church music,
  • Piano,
  • Strings and harp,
  • Voice, and
  • Wind and percussion.

 

Instrumental Ensemble Policy

All undergraduate instrumental music majors (band and orchestral instruments) must audition for a major ensemble (wind ensemble, symphony orchestra, symphonic band, marching band, or a maximum of 2 semesters of Jazz Ensemble I). 1 ensemble a semester, taken for credit, counts toward graduation requirements.
