Requirements for the Minor

Core Requirements

6 different courses are required. Complete each of the following:

Latin American Studies Prerequisites

Choose 2 of the following courses:

  • LAA 100 Latin American Culture and Society (3)
  • LAA 332/LAA 333 Language and Society in Latin America (3)
  • LAA 334 Indigenous Traditions of Latin America (3)
  • LAA 335 The Politics of Language in Latin America (3)

Latin American Studies Approved Classes

  • 4 courses (12 hours) at the junior/senior level are required. They may be chosen from the list of courses approved for Latin American studies. Only 1 course may be shared with the major.
