  • U.S. News: Special education No. 1 among public universities

    KU’s master’s and doctoral degrees in special education rank No. 2 in the nation among public and private schools combined, according to U.S. News and World Report. They rank No. 1 among public university programs. The doctoral degree in education ranked 9th among public universities and the teacher preparation program appeared in U.S. News’ alphabetical list of the top 50 programs.

    The master of science in special education can be completed in its entirety on the Edwards Campus.

  • U.S. News: City management and urban policy No. 1 in nation

    KU graduate programs excel nationally with more than 40 ranked programs, according to 2011 U.S. News and World Report rankings. Once again, city management and urban policy and special education rank No. 1 among public institutions. City management and urban policy also is No. 1 overall. At least 35 programs ranked in the top 40 among public institutions.

    Students can complete requirements for the master of public administration degree at the Edwards Campus in evening courses taught by the same nationally recognized KU faculty who teach in Lawrence.

    The undergraduate program at the School of Business ranks 35th among public universities, according to 2010 U.S. News and World Report rankings. The undergraduate program also was praised as notable by the Fiske Guide to Colleges 2011.

    The undergraduate bachelor of business administration degree is offered only on the Edwards Campus.

    KU's School of Business is among the "Best 294 Business Schools," according to the Princeton Review's 2012 edition.

    The Princeton Review praised the school and its MBA program for designing individualized educations for students and for international opportunities and focus on the global business environment.

    The Princeton Review praised KU social sciences, communications, and premedical sciences in its 2010 report on the top 100 institutions — 50 public and 50 private — that offer the best educational value. The "Best Value" selection criteria covered more than 30 factors in three areas — academics, costs of attendance and financial aid.

    The Edwards Campus offers undergraduate programs in developmental psychology, literature, language and writing, molecular biosciences and public administration. Master's programs are offered in communication studies, global and international studies and public administration.

    The School of Social Welfare’s master of social work program is tied for 18th among public and private university programs combined, according to U.S. News and World Report. The program is tied for 11th among public university programs, U.S. News said.

    The MSW program at the Edwards Campus prepares graduates for clinical social work practice or client-centered and community-centered administrative practice.

    KU boasts a wealth of solid nationally ranked programs, including an "amazing hands-on architecture program," according to the 2010 edition of The Best 371 Colleges, published by the Princeton Review.

    The Edwards Campus offers master of arts programs in architectural management, design management, and interaction design and a graduate certificate program in facilities management.

  • Best 371 Colleges features KU among top 10 percent of colleges nationwide

    Strong academics and research opportunities, supportive faculty, a diverse student body, and a great social scene earned KU a spot in the 2010 edition of The Best 371 Colleges, a guide published by the Princeton Review.

    "KU boasts a wealth of solid nationally ranked programs," the guide said. Only the top 10 percent of all the colleges in the nation are profiled in the 2010 edition.
