Requirements for the B.S. Degree

B.S. General College Requirements

30 to 34 hours are required.

English (9 hours). ENGL 101, ENGL 102, and ENGL 362 Foundations of Technical Writing. (If ENGL 362 is not available, any 200-level English writing course fulfills the requirement.)

Argument and Reason (3 hours). Satisfaction of the College B.A. requirement.

Western Civilization (6 hours). Satisfaction of the College B.A. requirement.

  • ECON 142 Principles of Microeconomics (3)
  • 3 additional courses from the principal course list in social sciences and humanities and/or courses in the same foreign language (9-15)

Electives 12 hours minimum

A minimum of 12 hours is required at the 300-level and above, with at least one course with the EVRN prefix.

Choice of electives must be made in consultation with a faculty adviser, and an elective approval form must be signed and submitted to the College before graduation. Lists of faculty advisers are available from the program office and the Environmental Studies website.
