Combined M.D.-Ph.D. Degree

Outstanding students who are qualified to do so may participate concurrently in work leading to the M.D. and Ph.D. degrees. Credit hours earned in the medical curriculum cannot be transferred as graduate credit hours toward the requirements for the Ph.D. degree, although recognition of satisfactory performance in appropriate medical courses may be given by the Ph.D. program when formulating the student’s additional Ph.D. curriculum. All the requirements for both degrees must be met. The combined degree requirements and application information for the combined M.D.-Ph.D. program are posted on the M.D.-Ph.D. website.
