Weddings/Ceremonies:
Students-$200.00 for 2 hours and a 1 hr. rehearsal time
Non-students-$400.00 for 2 hours and a 1 hr. rehearsal time
Clients may purchase ONE additional hour for the following prices:

Christenings/Memorials:
Students (Christenings)-$100.00 for ONE HOUR

Danforth Chapel is now taking credit cards. Effective immediately Danforth will be taking the following card vendors:
Visa,
MasterCard,
American Express,
and Discover.
A cleaning deposit of $100.00 is required of all guests. This payment is required at the time of your contract signing. The Danforth assistant on duty will perform a walk-through with you at the end of your ceremony to address any issues that may require a cleaning fee. If there is no one to sign the paper work at the end of your ceremony, you forfeit your cleaning deposit as outlined in the event agreement.
There is a small pipe organ in Danforth Chapel. It is a beautiful instrument, but has some limitations. Due to its age, we do not guarantee its usability. Please refer to the School of Music website to inquire about organists and fees.
Ceremony rehearsals must be reserved on the reservation form and are limited to one hour.
Thanks to the generosity of donors, Danforth Chapel now has a bride's room and handicapped-accessible restrooms for guests. The bridal room provides guests with a full-length mirror and vanity, with plenty of space to get ready for your ceremony. The bride’s room remains locked unless it is during the reserved ceremony time.
There is no amplified sound system in the Chapel. You may bring a stereo of your own for background music.
Throwing any materials, including, but not limited to; rice, birdseed, flower petals, confetti, etc. inside the chapel is strictly prohibited. If you choose to throw materials outside of the chapel, it is your responsibility to dispose of those materials (by sweeping or picking up). You may be subject to a pro-rated cleaning fee for any materials left behind.
The parking lot behind Danforth Chapel is available for use during ceremonies or rehearsals. However, if your ceremony falls on the day of a home game, the parking lot will most likely not be available. Additionally, parking anywhere on campus during a home game is very limited. For information about Parking please contact KU Parking & Transit at 785-864-PARK (7275).
The Student Involvement and Leadership Center is not resonsible for any parking restrictions that may occur on the day of your ceremony.
Danforth Chapel is now equipped with more effiecient heating and air conditioning. In order to ensure sufficient cooling for your ceremony, refrain from propping open any doors. If the air conditioning is not on, or if there is a malfunction of the system, contact Facilities and Operations at 785-864-5572 or
785-864-5913. Please do not touch the thermostats. The Danforth Chapel assistant will modify room temperature before arrival and departure.
The University has designated a Danforth Chapel Organist/Music Coordinator who is available to perform weddings, christenings, memorial services and other appropriate events. Upon request, the organist will consult with the party making the reservation to discuss musical selections. The Danforth Chapel Organist can also suggest vocalists or other musicians the party may want to consider. If the reserving party wants to bring in another organist, this is possible, but should be discussed with the organist. Organist and soloist fees must be negotiated between the musicians and the reserving party. Please contact the School of Music for more information.
