COMS Minor Requirements


Students can declare a minor in Communication Studies by completing a Minor Declaration Form (available from Undergraduate Services in 109 Strong Hall) and having it signed by a Communication Studies faculty member. There is no application process for the minor.

Requirements for the Minor:
  1. Completion of COMS 130 with a grade of C or better (or a waiver).
  2. Completion of 18 additional hours of COMS coursework. These 18 hours must include at least 12 hours in courses numbered 300 or above.
  3. You must earn a 2.0 GPA in hours taken for the minor.
