Michael Roberts receiving Presidential Citation from Alan Kazdin, President of the American Psychological Association, March 2008
In recognition of more than thirty years of energetic and visionary service to the field of clinical child psychology and to the profession of psychology, especially through his leadership within the American Psychological Association. Dr. Michael C. Robert's sustained involvement in and contribution to research and practice concerning the physical and mental health and well-being of children has ranged broadly, including such areas as children's and parent's perceptions of pediatric and psychological conditions and treatments, prevention of injuries and health promotion in children, and the role of positive psychology in children's development. He has helped to shape the field through his unflagging commitment to psychotherapeutic outcomes research and program evaluation, his many and widely consulted publications, his highly respected editorship of the premier journals in the field, including his current editorship of Professional Psychology, and his work on innovative and intensive mental health school programs for seriously emotionally disturbed children. It is in recognition of these extraordinary endeavors that the American Psychological Association presents Dr. Michael C. Roberts with this Presidential Citation.
