Dr. Kemper is the Scientific Director of the Advanced and Technology Core of the Center for Biobehavioral Neurosciences in Communication Disorders (BNCD) as well as Chair of the Users Committee. She is responsible for overseeing the ATT core, coordinating core services and priorities, advising researchers on the application of advanced statistical techniques, and tracking user satisfaction with ATT services.
Research Interests: Language development across the life-span with emphasis on age-related changes in adults' language. How subtle impairments of working memory affect language complexity in adults ages 60 to 90. Linguistic and cognitive changes in older adults, including adults with Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s. Communication between older adults and young adults, peers, and caregivers. Designing print and broadcast media to optimize older adults’ comprehension and recall.
