ATTThe Advanced Techniques and Technology Core (AT&T) is designed to provide advanced data analytic services to Biobehavioral Sciences Center researchers. It complements the functions of the Participant Recruitment and Digital Electronics Cores by concentrating on techniques and technologies for data analysis including the application of advanced statistical techniques. The Core, under the scientific direction of Dr. Janet Marquis, will: assist Center investigators by planning and conducting advanced statistical analyses including structural equation modeling, latent growth curve equation modeling, and multiple groups modeling including the determination of factorial invariance over time and groups; train Center investigators in innovative advanced analytic techniques; and assist Center investigators with grant proposal preparation and final report preparation including write-up of methods, procedures, and results sections. The Core will introduce Center investigators to new techniques for the analysis of intra- and inter-individual change such as data warehousing, Bayesian graphical analysis, and aggregate analysis.
Services
Access to the Analytic Techniques and Technology Core is restricted to researchers directly affiliated with the Biobehavioral Sciences Center as determined by the Internal Scientific Advisory Board. In conjunction with the Director and Users Committee, the Director has developed priorities for services based on 4 criteria: (i) need for advanced services; (ii) immediacy, reflecting grant submission, conference presentation, and other deadlines; (iii) scale, reflecting anticipated staff effort; and (iv) funding, favoring NIDCD investigators. A key assumption is the Center investigators and their project staff are responsible for basic statistical analyses as well as initial database design and implementation. Following an initial consultation with the Director, a researcher will be advised as to the approximate time line for project completion and user satisfaction will be assessed at the conclusion of each project. |
