List of Services

The bioshop is equipped with a wide variety of machine tools to create the custom hardware research labs need to successfully achieve results. Contact the bioshop first for all custom needs.

The following is a short list of services that the bioshop is able to provide:

  1. Repair of most instruments or lab equipment including:
    • All refrigerators, ultracold freezers, deli cases, household freezers
    • All ultracentrifuges, table top centrifuges, microcentrifuges, floor model centrifuges and the vacuum / refrigeration systems therein
    • All microscopes, fluorescence microscopes, microscope power supplies
    • All motorized shakers and rotators, both floor and table top models
    • All distilled water systems
    • All environmental chambers and incubators including CO2
    • Stir plates / hot plates and block heaters
    • All water baths
    • Analytical balances
    • Gell packs and associated power supplies
    • Cameras and electronic viewers
    • PCR systems
    • UV visible and fluorescence spectrophotometers
    • Cell disrupters
    • Lyophilizers
    • Gas chromatography, Liquid Chromatography, and High Performance Liquid Chromatography
    • Microwave ovens
    • Biological safety cabinets
  2. There are a few items which the bioshop is not currently able to service. These include:
    • Desktop computers or laptops
    • Autoclaves
  3. The bioshop is also able to provide the following laboratory support services:
    • Installation of laboratory furniture such as shelves, cabinets, bench tops / base cabinets, coat hooks
    • The ongoing elimination and disposal of “chalk boards” and hanging of dry wipe boards.
    • Custom fabrication of articles made of acrylic, stainless steel, aluminum, wood or any other common material.
