About the BioShop
The BioShop is an in-house machine, electronic, and wood shop. They service lab equipment and construct custom shelving and lab furniture. Click here for a complete list of services.
The KU BioShop is able to provide many services to the Molecular Biosciences, Ecology and Evolutionary Biosciences, and KU Undergraduate Biology departments. These services are offered as part of the general support infrastructure for research and education. Because the BioShop fills a support role, labor is not billed to EEB, MB, or KUUB. Only supplies and parts are billed making the bioshop a potential for great cost savings when compared to having the same work done by outside for profit businesses.

Generally the bioshop will strive to complete tasks in 5 business days or less. At times, replacement parts or supplies may take longer to obtain but the bioshop will keep all customers informed on the progress of any task. Please review what the bioshop can do and everyone is encouraged to contact the bioshop by phone, email or by completing a work request form that is available through this web site.
Work Order Requests
There are two ways to submit a work request. To submit a printed or electronic PDF, download the Work Order Request form and fill out the form with your work order information. You can then either submit the form electronically (via email) or print it out and deliver it to the BioShop office. You can also submit work requests using this web page instead of the PDF form.
Note: Adobe Reader is required to submit the PDF form electronically.
