Proper capitalization using Microsoft Word
- Select all of the text in the document by clicking on the Edit button on the toolbar and choosing Select All.
- Next, click on the Format button on the toolbar and choosing Change Case.
- Choose Title Case.
- You will notice that all of the text has been changed to Proper text (the first letter of each word is capitalized). However, the state abreviations have also been changed to the Proper format. To change this click on the Edit button on the toolbar and choose Replace.
- Find what: Ks Replace with: KS
Capitalization is important in this step. Also, it is important to remember that this step will only correct the state abreviations for Kansas. The other states will have to be corrected manually.
