Housing and Meals
Hashinger Hall
Hashinger Hall is a center for the creative arts. "Hash" is located atop Daisy Hill and provides a small theater, a dance studio, design lab, a painting and pottery room, a darkroom, a gourmet kitchen, and various practice rooms for residents' use. Hashinger is coed by wing and has two wings. In KU's coed facilities, men and women live on separate wings with a central floor lobby. Fulbright summer pre-academic program participants will be housed together on one floor of Hashinger and each will share a room with another Fulbright program participant.
Each room contains: A hinged-door closet with storage unit above, built-in dresser with mirror, two beds, two extra long twin mattresses, two desks, two desk chairs, trash cans, and venetian blinds. Each room also features an active cable and telephone connection, and ethternet data connection capability. The AEC will provide sheets, a pillow and pillowcase for each participant.
Every residence hall at KU has an Academic Resource Center (ARC) which provides computers and study aids as well as a location for tutoring services. The Academic Resource Center in Hashinger also houses a sheet music and script collection. All residence halls have KU Card or coin-operated laundry facilities. Telecommunications services include telephone and data connectivity. Telephone service is active at move-in; long distance service is available separately.
