ACEJMC Accredited Programs, 2007 - 2008last update: 8-30-07 02/01/08 Return to STUDENT Information Center main menu. Return to PROGRAM Information Center main menu. What the list meansACEJMC accredits 110 programs in journalism and mass communications at colleges and universities in the United States and one at a university outside the country. ACEJMC does not rate units or put them in any rank order. The listing of a unit as accredited indicates that the unit has been judged by ACEJMC to meet its standards. That judgment is rendered after a self-study prepared by the faculty and administration of the unit and an independent evaluation of the unit by educators and practitioners."College," "School," "Department" or "Division" in the following listings identifies the academic unit that has been evaluated for accreditation. The listing shows the bachelor's and professional master's degree programs that were examined during the unit's most recent accreditation review. Some units offer degrees in addition to those listed here. ACEJMC does not accredit programs leading to the Ph.D., which is considered a research (and not a professional) degree. The Council does not list sequences or specialties. Accreditation evaluations normally are made by ACEJMC at six-year intervals. An asterisk (*) beside a school's listing indicates that the school has received a one-year delay of its accreditation visit. How to use the listThe list is divided by state. Scroll through, or go directly to a state's entry by clicking the state name in the table below. When finished reading an entry, return here by clicking the "Back" button or by dragging in the scroll bar in your browser window.
