Founded
in 1968, the Max Kade Center promotes the study of language, history, and
culture of German-speaking immigrants, and their contributions to American
society. With its valuable collection of books and manuscripts that focus
on immigrant and exile experiences, the center enables students and scholars
to conduct research. The center works closely with individuals in diverse
fields in the United States and abroad to create an international and interdisciplinary
context for the German-American focus. Through instructional programs, publications,
exchanges, grants, conferences, the center achieves outreach to both the
academic community and the general public. |
