Police Unit: POSITIONS AVAILABLE

• The entry level position is; University Police Officer.
• The minimum requirements for employment;
  1. 21 years of age or older.
  2. High School diploma or equivalent.
  3. Valid drivers license.
  4. Pass a background check, be free of any felony convictions and never convicted of any domestic violence crimes.
  5. Be a United States citizen.
  6. Pass a drug test.

• The entry level position is; Safety and Security Officer I.
• The minimum requirements for employment;

Student Positions in the Electronic Monitoring Section: NO POSITIONS AVAILABLE

• This job is for:
  • Monitors for the University Security Camera System.
  • Security in the KU libraries.
  • Security at some KU athletic events.
• We are looking for,
1. KU students enrolled in at least six hours.
2. Be able to pass a background check and free of any felony convictions.
3. Students must be a US citizen for employment.
• Benefits:
  • Flexible hours from 6:00 PM to 8:00 AM.
    • Video Monitors available shifts (7 days a week) .
      • 6:00 P.M. to 9 P.M.
      • 9:00 P.M. to 12:00 P.M.
      • 12:00 P.M. to 3:00 A.M.
      • 3:00 A.M. to 6:00 A.M.
    • Library Security available shifts (Monday thru Thursday).
      • 12:00 P.M. to 4:00 A.M.
      • 4:00 A.M. to 8:00 A.M.
  • A variety of assignments.
  • Pay starting at $8.75 an hour.
• Students will be allowed to study when working security at the libraries.

Communications Section: POSITIONS AVAILABLE

• The Communications entry level position is; Communications Specialist I.
• The minimum requirements for employment;
  1. 18 years of age or older.
  2. High School diploma or equivalent.
  3. Be able to pass a background check and free of any felony convictions.
  4. Hearing must be, or be able to be corrected to a level where normal radio and phone conversations can be held.
  5. Vision must be, or be able to be corrected to a level that computer terminal screens, maps and print outs can be read quickly and accurately.
  6. Must be a US citizen for employment.
